ACE National is led by Carers UK , funded through the European Social Fund's Equal programme.
ACE is made up of a range of partners.
Carers currently save the economy £57 billion each year in care costs, the equivalent of a second National Health Service. Three million of the six million carers in the UK currently juggles work and care. If carers are to continue to carry the lion's share of care whilst remaining active in the labour market, it is critical that there are good services to support them.
We know that even if the carer is able to work and has confidence and skills in place, it will not be enough if the services to the person being cared for do not fit the bill.
The current ACE National partnership is taking up that challenge, finding new ways of delivering services to the service user that will enable the carer to work.
